Dating in Utah County does not have to be expensive. Some of the best dates cost almost nothing and still feel like you planned something. Here are a few ideas built around Pleasant Grove.
1. Hike to Battle Creek Falls, then get breakfast
The Battle Creek Trail starts at 1700 East 200 South in Pleasant Grove, and it is about half a mile to the waterfall. It is short enough for a casual first date and pretty enough to feel special. Afterward, grab coffee and malasadas.
2. Walk or bike the Murdock Trail
The Murdock Trail runs about 17 miles along the base of the mountains from Orem to Lehi. Pick a section, bring bikes or just walk, and talk the whole time.
3. Sunset on the G Trail
Just under a mile, but steep. The payoff is a wide view over the valley and Utah Lake. Go before sunset and bring a jacket.
4. A dessert date instead of a dinner date
Dinner for two adds up fast. A dessert date does not. At Onoh’s Malasada Co, two malasadas and two lattes cost less than a pair of movie tickets. Try a few flavors and split them.
- Malasadas from $2.45 each
- Lattes from $4.50, hot or iced
- A 6-pack of malasadas to share, $14.00
5. The breakfast date
Underrated. A morning date is low pressure and easy to extend if it is going well. Breakfast sandwiches on a malasada bun start at $5.95, and we open at 8am Monday through Saturday.
